Glamping
Darwin View
Our glamping pods were born when a creative mind wandered through the showground and saw potential in our old stables…
We now have five stable pods on site, four of which can sleep two to three people and a large pod which sleeps up to seven. All have their own area for a BBQ and a small garden to relax in and the pods have heaters to keep you warm and toasty on the colder nights.
Did You Know?
You can see Mount House from our glamping pods - the birthplace and childhood home of naturalist Charles Darwin (hence the name!).

Charles Darwin
The glamping pod area was named after Shrewsbury’s famous son, the naturalist Charles Darwin.
Darwin was born, in the house that can be seen from our pods, on February 12th, 1809, and acquired his love of nature in Shrewsbury roaming the meadows along the River Severn before leaving the town in his 20s to join the HMS Beagle.
Darwin’s childhood garden, where he spent much of his childhood, lies alongside the river below Mount Road and is open a number of times a year for visitors.
