The West Mid showground Campsite

We are a family-friendly Shropshire site less than 15 minutes walk from Shrewsbury town centre, where tourist sites and shopping are within easy reach.

We offer on-site wash, toilet and shower facilities and electric options as well as plenty of green space for children and dogs to exercise on - while being large enough to offer you secluded spots if you are looking for a more tranquil stay.

Why stay with us?

We are extremely proud of both our huge grounds within the River Severn loop and the wonderful and historic town that is our home.

Shrewsbury has an abundance of striking timber-framed buildings, many of which house some of the best independent shops in the country, winding shuts leading to wonderful eateries and cafes, a red sandstone castle and a beautiful Quarry Park with its landscaped sunken garden - The Dingle.

Whether you stay on site for games and relaxation or head out into Shrewsbury with a boat ride and a visit to the castle and museums we know you will not regret paying us a visit!

New for 2022 is the opportunity to book canoe, kayak and paddleboard sessions directly from the showground - contact Drummond Outdoor for more information.

Great location just an easy 15 minute walk into town. Own little garden with a shelter and fire pit. Washing and toilet block and pot wash point close by. Very friendly staff. Very peaceful, calm and relaxing even though it is a big site. We had a great stay.

Great having indoor area (with heater) and two outside options (no cover or under cover). Site was enormous so plenty of room for kids to kick a ball and run about. Good fun swimming, canoeing and fishing in the River Severn. Site very secure and staff all very helpful. Shrewsbury and the surrounding area is a great location with so much to see and do. We will be back.

We had a great camping weekend and thank you for the warm & helpful welcome when we arrived. Facilities were fine, nice powerful showers and ideally situated, being a peaceful site, but still close to the town. We will certainly be returning and have recommended the site to friends. "What a find" Thanks again!
