Car boot sales - the best way to go hunting for those bargains!
26 Jul 2022

Are you looking for a bargain? Then why not come and join us at our car boot sales - they are held on most Sundays throughout the year.

Car boots have become an increasingly popular pastime. They are an ideal opportunity for sellers to make a little extra cash, which is particularly relevant in the current economic climate, and are great for buyers who might just be able to pick up something they want at a knock-down price.

If it’s Sunday, it’s car boot time

Our car boots are held every Sunday - unless the date clashes with one of the main events we stage throughout the year.

The showground comes alive on Sundays with the wide variety of items for sale and there is always an air of anticipation among buyers looking for that certain something which ticks all the boxes for them.

The weird and the wonderful

Some of the items for sale never cease to amaze us as we walk around the showground and things you think just won’t find a new home can be snapped up quickly by an eager buyer - there always seems to be a market for just about anything! And we also have a solution for those items which remain unsold.

Sellers who have been unsuccessful in moving items on and don’t want the hassle of taking them home can donate these goods to us and we will be delighted to put them on sale in one of our charity shops. The proceeds of the shop sales will go to The Rural Charity, which helps in the general running of the showground and also allows us to support other local groups and organisations.

Get here early

Gates at the showground open to sellers at 7am on a Sunday, there is no need to book and buyers are welcome from 7.30am. Pitches cost £5 for sellers but buyers can attend free of charge. There is no fixed time when the car boots close, but they are usually slowing down by 11am so it’s best to come early if you can.

We have ample parking available at the showground and are just a short 15-minute walk from the town centre. During the colder and wetter months of the year, we have plenty of undercover space, with stall holders setting up in the Berwick Pavilion, so we are an ideal location whatever the time of year!

It’s a great morning out, set in 50 acres of picturesque parkland, so we will see you there!
