History
Over 145 Years of Excellence
Read the history of the show with a genuine welcome for all friends and families every year.

The Shropshire County Agricultural Show was created in the late nineteenth century when it was launched as part of the cooperative venture- The Shropshire and West Midlands Agricultural Society.
Since 1875 agriculture has seen massive changes in farming techniques, engine-powered machinery and technology, but despite this, the DMOS People West Mid Showground has always kept abreast of every new trend and continues to showcase the latest initiatives.
The show has been held for an impressive century and a quarter and throughout this span of time farmers, their families and their employees, and in the recent years a wider range of people, have come together to enjoy themselves in the merry month of May.

Present Day
Now the show caters for a wider audience than ever before. However, the society never loses sight of its main goal - highlighting and promoting the vital role that our own agricultural industry plays in the economy, despite the ever-rising tide of produce pouring in from all over the world.
The show is now a successful and popular family event that attracts thousands of people year on year. If you are a regular visitor we are sure you will return, but if you have never experienced the agricultural show we can assure you that you will be impressed!
